Matsuri

Hey guys~ Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I was just...lazy haha. So anyway, 2-3 weeks ago I went to the Matsuri Japan in the Old Port of Montreal. It was such a nice sunny day! But this year, the festival changed location because there's was some other thing at the place they usually do it and the place where they held it this year was so narrow! I kept bumping into people and it was like we were all squished in together. Adding to that was the freaking hot weather so it wasn't really pleasant. Besides that, the festival was enjoyable and there was lots of yummy food! I think this post will just be a pic spam lol!

Salmon Maki cone (Temaki)

Yakisoba

Okonomiyaki

Takoyaki

Everything we had was delicious!! My cousin also ate a kimchi j-dog but unfortunately I didn't take a picture =( But damn those things are huge LOL!

There was a lot of people that wore Yukata. I wanted to wear one but the line for renting was extremely longggg so I decided not to. Anyway it was wayyy to hot haha. I saw the cutest little girl with the cutest yukata!

Kawaii~

After that my cousins and I went to Chinatown to grab a bubble tea before heading home. It was a pretty nice day. Oh and I'm getting the hang of my new camera! It's so fun haha.

My cousin (right) and I (left)

I'll try to post pictures of my weekend with friends at a chalet this week!

L'entoilage

Last Saturday, I went to this place called L'entoilage. It's like an Asian style coffee shop/lounge type of place and it's located in the middle of nowhere in Montreal. I heard about this place from a friend of mine and he told me they had Okonomiyaki...OMG! There's Okonomiyaki in Montreal! So I obviously HAD to check it out! The place is so cute! It has a nice simple modern decor and the owners are really nice. I didn't bring my camera with me so I took pictures with my phone ^^;;

Here is part of the menu. They offer different types of drink like coffees, lattes, bubble tea, tea, etc. Their menu consist of various types of wraps and sandwiches. Also available is the menu of the day which varies everyday; you can have Okonomiyaki, Korean BBQ, Tonkatsu, Bibimbap, etc. The dishes are mostly Japanese and Korean. Oh and not pictured are the dessert which looked DELICIOUS! But I was too full to try any of them =(

Anyway, I started off with a Milk Tea bubble tea which tasted great and not too sweet. Then I was served a japanese salad on shrimp crackers. These were so good! I absolutely loved it!

Entrée

Next, I got my main course which was a Squid Okonomiyaki. I was so happy I finally found a place that made Okonomiyaki in Montreal haha! The Okonomiyaki was delicious! It was light and fluffy and well made. I know it doesn't look that yummy in the picture but trust me, it was!

Okonomiyaki

Overall, L'entoilage is a nice place to grab lunch or just to chill and relax with friends. They just opened a few months ago so they're still building their clientele but I'm sure this place will get popular in no time. They offer a wide variety of food, drinks and desserts for an affordable price so what's not to like haha. I had a nice time there andI will definitely go back!

If you guys want to, you can check their facebook page here or their website at www.lentoilage.com

Spain for the win!

YES! Spain won the FIFA World cup this past Sunday! I'm so happy they finally got the grand title for the first time and they deserve it. It was a goal from Iniesta at the 116th in overtime that gave Spain their first ever World Cup trophy. When i saw the goaler Casillas tear up at the end of the game I couldn't help but feel a little emotional haha. Anyway with their victory it meant that I got myself a FREE PIERCING from Nezem!!! And I went today to get my conch pierced ^^ I won't lie, it did hurt and I bled quite a bit but I'm really happy I finally did it! I don't have any pictures right now but I'll show it off once it's less painful ^^;;

Viva España!!!

So you might not know but I'm a huge soccer fan! Especially during the FIFA World Cup! I've played for 5 years during part of my childhood and teenage years and I loved it. It also kept me in shape haha. Anyway I was rooting for the Asian teams (South Korea and Japan) but they only managed to pass the first round =( The other team I was rooting for was Spain! It's the team I really hoped would win the cup and I'm happy to see that they made it to the finals for the first time in their history!!! They're up against the Netherlands and I think Spain has good chances at taking it home ^^ David Villa has been playing really well and I hope Fernando Torres plays like the player he's supposed to be, he's not been playing as well as expected but oh well...he's major eye candy hehehe. The big finale is on Sunday so don't forget to tune in~

Another reason why I really want Spain to win is because I could get a free piercing! For you Montrealers, I don't know if you guys know the piercing shop Nezem (www.nezem.com) but I'm a fan of their Facebook page and they had a little bet saying that the people who could predict the winner of the World Cup would get a free piercing. Only my friend and I chose Spain so we're the only ones left! If they win we get a free piercing! How awesome is that?! If you guys are around that area (St-Denis street) go visit them! They're professional APP certified piercers and are really nice and friendly =)

COME FASTER SUNDAY I CAN'T WAIT!

Heat Wave

Omg you guys, there's a heat wave in Montreal since last Friday and I'm dyingggg!! Temperature has been over 30 degrees and felt like 40-43 degrees. It's hot! Thank god I have AC haha. In times like this don't forget to keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of water, stay in cool areas and don't do intense physical stuff =)

Apart from that, I've been working a lot these past few weeks but now my hours at work have dropped and I'm not really happy about that. I'm also on a shopping ban and been trying to save money so my life has been really boring lately. I don't have much to post since I can't buy stuff and try not to go out too much -_- So I just spend my days watching sitcoms and doing my nails haha! Since it's summer and it's really hot here, I decided to do summer inspired nails! You guys should get out Wah-Nails (www.wah-nails.com). They post lots of types of nails designs and I got inspired by one of their designs this week! It's a totally awesome site for nail fanatics hehehe ^^ So here are my nails of the week!

Left hand

Right hand

I used China Glaze's Peachy Keen as the base and with a white nail art deco nail polish I drew vertical lines. After that I put fimo fruits clay on top and voila! =) I really like it, it's perfect for summer~

Oh and I know it's really random but last year I went to the Jonas Brothers concert because the Wonder Girls were the opening act. I know, Jonas Brothers...but come on! It was like a one in a lifetime chance to meet kpop celebrities haha! Anyway, there I pre-ordered their album that was supposed to come out last fall but they kept delaying it -_- So they decided to release a single in May and then release the full length album this fall. And yesterday I got a surprise package! As a compensation for making us wait so long for the album, they sent to those who pre-ordered their album the single 2 Different Tears for free!! Omg I was so happy haha!

The album is bigger than an average sized cd but it's soooo pretty~ The album pictures are really nice too and overall I'm happy JYP sent us a copy of their single. Plus it was free yay!

Anyway I'm really hot right now and my AC is not working properly today. I think it's been working too hard lately that's why. I'm gonna go find a way to cool off a bit haha. Good night!

Nails~

I absolutely LOVE painting my nails! I admit it, I have an obsession with nail polish. I change colors every week and love to try different designs. Lately I've been trying to cut back on them, at $5-8 a bottle this hobby of mine is getting a bit expensive haha. I've been browsing some blogs and forums and it looks like the nail polish Hidden Treasure from Sally Hansen is quite sought-after. So I've been looking for it for the last month but no success. But yesterday I went to my local pharmacy to buy some face wash and went to the makeup section for a quick peek and there, on a separate display, was 2 bottles of Hidden Treasure!!! I can't tell you how excited I was then! I grabbed the 2 bottles right away and ran to the cash! I tried it on right after I got home and I must say it's pretty amazing! The big flaky glitters are really gorgeous and it has a kind of holographic effect to it.

My 2 bottles of Hidden Treasure

HT layered over Chanel Nouvelle Vague

You can't really see the effect of Hidden Treasure over Nouvelle Vague. I wasn't able to catch it on camera but it's much nicer in real life. Also, Hidden Treasure looks better on dark nail polish since you can see the flaky glitters better (it's gorgeous!). If one of you guys is interested I'm selling my second bottle of Hidden Treasure. I bought it for my friend but she found a bottle at her local pharmacy too so I have an extra one =)

Oh and since we're on the nails topic, I did my nails last week with OPI's Wing It from the Flutter Collection. It's kind of a raspberry pink nail polish with blue and pink micro-glitters in it. It's really pretty I fell in love with it when I put it on! I also got a lot of compliments from friends and customers at work it made me really happy hahaha.

Oh and just to let you know I'm still getting used to my DSLR so the pictures don't look that great at the moment but I'm getting there! My friend is going to give me a small crash course on DSLR cameras hehehe ^^

Canon XS

I have a part-time job in a huge electronic store and last week there was a re-opening of a store so we had huge deals on several products. One special caught my eye and it was the deal on the Canon XS. It had a hugeee discount, from $529.99 to $349.99!! Since there was only a limit of 15 per store and the sale only lasted 3 days, I couldn't resist and bought it!!! I've always wanted a DSLR but never owned one so my friends suggested me that the Canon XS was a good starter DSLR. I can finally take good quality pictures I'm so happy haha! The only camera I own is an old Canon powershot and it takes blurry pictures, even my phone camera is clearer -_-. I love photography and maybe this can be the beginning of a new fun hobby hehe. =)

Anyway, I would love to post pictures for you guys to see but I still don't really know how it works haha ^^ I'm gonna go read the manual now and I'll keep you updated!
